Spent 2 years of my life with unexpressive emotions, mixed feelings, supportive friends, friendly teachers and cherishing memories. The best school, honestly If I can say something. Because the more I'll speak, it will be completely less to describe or justify the entire life, I've spent there. Thank you AHS for everything ❤️

I’m an ex-student of this institute from the batch 2001-03. In my opinion it’s one of worst schools I have ever attended. I studied my XI and XII from here. Kids who join the school in such higher classes are bullied by the ones who are here for a longer time. Some of the teachers are also a big bully. The mental health of the students go for a toss. My score in 12th grade utterly suffered because of the school system. Later on I did my Engineering & MBA ( from one of the top schools in the country ).

Rigid, authoritarian and regressive school rules have killed my confidence and talents. Strict and sexist dress codes and hair codes have deteriorated my health conditions, communication skills, creativity and performance, violated my basic human rights and caused school phobia, migraines, loss of elasticity of hair, hair loss and scalp diseases. Traction alopecia is a type of hair loss due to hairstyles that pull on hair such as ponytails, pigtail braids etc. Some of my classmates suffered from this hair problem. Hair loss is common during menstruation and hot and humid weather. Hair is a students' personal matter and doesn't affect education. All the students don't have same immunity power. Half ponytail hairstyle should be allowed. Freedom of hair should be given so as to maintain the condition of scalp, elasticity of hair and body temperature and to avoid smelly hair. Also, long haircuts should be allowed. Let the hair be relaxed. Ground floor is full of mosquitoes. Washrooms are unhygienic. Classes have not been conducted properly. Lack of recreational time among high school students has lead to physical and mental health issues. Overcrowding in classrooms is really suffocating and distracting. Most of the teachers and council members are so partial and abusive. But Library ma'am, A. Ghosh ma'am, A. Goswami ma'am, J. Chatterjee ma'am, S. Banerjee sir, G.P. Ali ma'am, S. Sanyal sir, S. Banik ma'am and my classmates are friendly and impartial. In this hope, school should allow the girls to wear pants as a part of school uniform. Jeans and pants protect the legs from mosquito bites in school and harmful UV rays from the sun. Skirts should be made optional. Girls deserve more hygiene, creativity and privacy than boys. Hairstyles should made as the girl students' personal choice and should not be forced on them. CBSE and the state boards of West Bengal, Odisha and the northeastern states of India should give freedom of hair, grooming and clothing to the girls so as to boost their creativity and confidence. Hopefully, school should also give freedom of hairstyles, clothing and grooming to them. This will make importance of girl child education in our country more sense. 2015 spectrum program was awesome. I like Mandarin classes. I miss Saraswati Puja celebration very much. Hopefully, before Durga Puja vacation and before Diwali, school should organize Durga puja and Diwali celebrations. During these celebrations, all the students and teachers should also be encouraged to wear traditional dresses as worn during Saraswati Puja celebration so as to increase creativity.

I used to study in this school from 2005-14. It is a very good school. The teachers are very caring and affectionate. They take very good care of the students. There are multiple co-curricular activities for the all round development of the students. Special attention is given to the weak students. I would highly recommend this school.

Communication wise is very good. The space of the school is tooooo short. There is a medium size tennis court as well as a basketball court (two in one). Most importantly the washroom of the school is too bad. Very small space. There is no space to move your body freely in the bathroom.. The water supply to the bathroom is very very bad. Flush doesn't work properly. Many of the toilets are unusable. Though it's a ladies toilet most of the doors can't be locked properly. The ventilation of the school is very good and airy. A renowned aristocrat school where this type of things are not expected at ALL !!!! BAD EXPERIENCE...... 👎👎👎👎

I was a student from 2014-16, admitted in the Humanities stream. This is where I rediscovered myself and nowhere, even in a coed school I experienced so much freedom. The washrooms in ground floor are in poor condition and walls are scribbled by unscrupulous public. My new pair of ballerina shoes were exchanged by an old & worn one outside multimedia & web tech lab. My fashion studies (old edition) book was stolen. There are no cctvs to find out theft or wrongdoings via footage. The mid-term practical marks of our section was not added because we 'mass bunked'- only 5 students were present the day before Home Science exam. The decision was taken by the principal. 5) i was sent back from school because i was it was the third time i was late. My eyes welled up and i had to return with my father, as this absurd rule exists for students not availing the schoolbus. 6) the fashion studies teacher is a bull&*#@. She will make your life hell. She asked the external examiner to score me 0/5 for pracs. The political science teacher was a princess of partiality and also our class teacher. She lulls the students in class and didn't change the prefects for the second year. Everyone should have got equal opportunity but she favoured the niece of her colleague [my batchmate] and the girls close to her. 7) i am proud to have participated in spectrum 2015 in which MC Mary Kom was the chief guest. I regret being absent for the trials of the opening march past. It was in this school that i participated in two fest for the first time in my school life and became more stage free than my usual self. Sometimes they conduct batch trips. During my academic session, destinations were Mandarmoni and Mumbai-Goa. Archery and rowing are taught in clubs but you don't know the date & time of enrolment. Throwball is played. I submitted a poem for Cross Currents but it was never collected. We visited the National Museum on many occasions from here. 8) Now the recent relaxation of carrying mobile phones from 6-12 is a very poor move by the authorities. Overall I am proud to have graduated from Ashok Hall Group of Schools. But the security & safety need to be scaled up and infrastructure must be improved with the hefty fees charged by the management.

My daughter had a mixed experience for two years. Enough scope for co-curricular and she participated in spectrum 2015. There are few stubborn teachers who refuse to change their ways and whom the management refuses to replace like the Fashion Studies, English, etc. Partiality towards teachers' pets, electing them in students' council and favouritism towards faculty's kins are rampant. Girls steal- a rare textbook of FS was stolen and my ward's new ballerina shoes were replaced by miscreants in the garb of students. Walls of bathrooms are scribbled by rogues and only 1/2 classrooms are air-conditioned. Benches are placed one after another with no space to pass. However she passed out with flying colours, speaking of AISSE. They have a weird system of sending students back home if they arrive late for the third time- no consideration for the distance and situation of working parents.
